Fair Use Policy
1. The Short Version
Unlimited plans exist so you never have to watch a clock while you study. This policy exists so "unlimited" can keep meaning that. It draws one simple line: unlimited use is for one person, studying for themselves. If that describes you, you can stop reading here and get back to your lesson.
2. What Fair Use Looks Like
One person, one account, real studying. There is no daily quota hiding behind the word "unlimited". If you are grinding through finals week with hours of lessons every day, that is not an edge case. That is exactly what your plan is for.
3. What Is Not Fair Use
A small set of behaviors turns a personal study plan into something else. These are not allowed:
- Sharing your account, or reselling or renting access to the Service
- Creating multiple accounts to stack free allowances or dodge limits
- Driving the Service with scripts, bots, or any other automation instead of a human
- Leaving sessions running unattended to consume lesson time you are not actually using
- Extracting lessons or AI output in bulk, or using the Service as a backend for another product or service
- Using the Service for commercial purposes without our written permission
We also keep an eye on sustained usage far beyond any personal study pattern, meaning many times what even the heaviest studiers use. In practice, usage at that level is almost always one of the behaviors above in disguise, so we treat it as a reason to review an account under this policy, not as a violation by itself.
4. How We Handle It
If your usage pattern looks like one of the behaviors above, we will email you first and ask about it. Most unusual patterns have an ordinary explanation, and a conversation resolves them.
In extreme cases we may temporarily slow or pause sessions on an account while we sort things out. Suspending or terminating an account, as described in our Terms of Service, is a last resort we reserve for clear and continued abuse. We will never quietly punish you for studying too much.
5. Part of Our Terms
This policy is part of the Eigen Inc. Terms of Service. We may update it from time to time, and we'll notify you of significant changes as described there.
