Terms of Service
Please read these terms carefully before using Eigen Inc. services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the Eigen Inc. platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree to these terms, please don't use the Service.
2. The Nature of the Service
2.1 AI-Powered Learning Tool
Eigen Inc. uses artificial intelligence to deliver personalized learning experiences. Like all AI systems, it may occasionally generate inaccurate information or make mistakes. We work continuously to improve accuracy and reliability.
2.2 Supplemental Tool
The Service is designed to supplement your learning journey, not replace professional instruction, academic coursework, or professional advice. For important decisions regarding academics, health, or legal matters, consult qualified professionals.
2.3 Continuous Improvement
We may update the AI model, features, and user interface at any time to improve the learning experience. We'll notify you of major changes when possible.
3. User Eligibility & Accounts
3.1 Age Requirements
You must be at least 13 years old to use Eigen Inc., unless a parent or legal guardian provides verifiable consent and accepts these Terms on your behalf, in which case children under 13 may use the Service subject to the additional protections described in our Privacy Policy. If you're between 13 and 18 (or your jurisdiction's age of majority), your parent or guardian must consent to these terms.
3.2 Account Security
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity on your account. Don't share your login with others. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.
3.3 Account Information
You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and to keep it up to date.
4. Intellectual Property
4.1 Your Content
You retain all rights to the questions, prompts, and information you provide to Eigen Inc. ("Your Input"). You grant us permission to use Your Input to provide and improve the Service.
4.2 AI-Generated Responses
The responses generated by our AI for you ("Output") are yours to use for personal, educational purposes. You may not use Output to train competing AI systems or for commercial purposes without permission.
4.3 Our Platform
Eigen Inc.'s software, algorithms, interface design, and AI models are our proprietary technology. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or replicate our systems. You agree not to scrape or bulk-download content from the Service.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service for:
- Attempting to bypass safety features or manipulate the AI into harmful outputs
- Using the Service to generate training data for competing systems
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or misrepresent your identity
- Submitting content that's abusive, defamatory, or infringes on others' rights
- Using the Service for commercial purposes without permission
- Any illegal or harmful activity
5.1 Fair Use of Unlimited Features
Plans described as "unlimited" are unlimited for one person's personal, interactive studying. They may not be shared, resold, automated, or used as a backend for another product, and sustained usage far beyond any personal study pattern may be reviewed as a sign of those behaviors. The full details, including how we handle unusual usage, live in our Fair Use Policy, which is part of these Terms.
6. Subscriptions, Billing & Refunds
6.1 Subscriptions
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis for the billing period you choose. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep access to your paid plan until the end of the period you already paid for.
6.2 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee
If a paid plan isn't right for you, email us at legal@eigenteaches.com within 7 days of your first purchase and tell us why. We review each request individually and will issue a full refund where both of the following are true:
- Your request describes a genuine reason the Service did not work for you (for example, a technical problem, or the Service not fitting the need you bought it for); and
- Your account activity does not show substantial beneficial use of the paid plan during the period, such as a significant volume of completed lesson time.
The guarantee applies once per customer, to the first charge of your first subscription. Nothing in this section limits any refund rights you have under applicable law that cannot be waived.
6.3 Renewals
Renewal charges are generally non-refundable, except where required by law. To avoid an unwanted renewal, cancel before your current billing period ends.
6.4 Changes to Plans & Pricing
Our plans will evolve as Eigen Inc. does: prices, features, limits, and the lineup itself may change at any time. What doesn't change is how we treat you when they do.
A price change never reaches into time you've already paid for. It takes effect at a later renewal, and we'll give you reasonable advance notice first, so the decision is yours before it costs you anything. If you don't want the new price, your sole remedy is simple and always available: cancel before it takes effect and you'll never pay it. Staying subscribed after it takes effect means you've accepted it.
We may modify, add, or remove plan features at any time, and most of the time that means new things arriving. If a change ever materially reduces what your paid plan includes during a period you've already paid for, we don't keep money for something we took away: your sole and exclusive remedy is to cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused time.
6.5 Discontinuation of the Service
This is the section we hope never matters. We may suspend or discontinue the Service, or any plan or feature, at any time. If we ever discontinue the Service or your paid plan entirely, we won't disappear with your money: our sole obligation is to make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance and to refund the unused portion of any period you've prepaid, calculated pro-rata.
7. Disclaimers
7.1 Service Provided As-Is
Eigen Inc. is provided on an "as-is" basis. We don't guarantee that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure. While we work to maintain high standards, we can't promise perfect uptime or accuracy.
7.2 AI Limitations
AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. Always verify important information with reliable sources before relying on it for decisions. Eigen Inc. is not responsible for decisions made based on AI responses.
7.3 No Professional Advice
Eigen Inc. is not a substitute for professional advice. For medical, legal, financial, or mental health concerns, consult appropriate professionals.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Eigen Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including (but not limited to) academic outcomes, data loss, or reliance on inaccurate information.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and defend Eigen Inc. from any claims, damages, or costs (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any laws.
10. Dispute Resolution
If you have a concern about the Service, please contact us at legal@eigenteaches.com and we'll try to resolve it.
If we can't resolve your issue informally, you and Eigen Inc. agree to resolve disputes through negotiation or mediation before pursuing legal action. Disputes will be governed by applicable law and subject to the jurisdiction where Eigen Inc. is located.
11. Termination
You can stop using Eigen Inc. at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or pose a security risk. Upon termination, your right to use the Service stops immediately, though your data handling will continue under our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
